I am a mother and a wife and consider myself very blessed to be able to do what I love every day! I like daisies, summertime, cheesecake, books, and photography, of course. My oldest daughter was born with Aicardi Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that has caused severe disabilities. I struggled for several years to get a good portrait of her from different commercial studios, but each session was another disappointment. No studio portraits truly captured her sweet smile and personality in such an unnatural setting. So I took the challenge upon myself to take the kind of portrait of her that would finally capture who she really is. I’ve created my own children’s custom portraits since 2005 and launched Photography by Jodi Ann in 2011.
